On the 4th of March 2022, TAML hosted a delegation from the Malawi Defense Force (MDF) Staff College students for a study visit of the tea industry. The visit was part of their training program. TAML and its member Makandi Tea Estate were honored to host these senior officers from Malawi, Zambia and Kenya.

The interaction was so fruitful as it triggered discussions that were so engaging which focused on the contribution of the industry to the economy, development and security of Malawi as a nation. The level of understanding on these subject matter by the men in uniform was so intriguing.
Field Visit
Wrapping up their visit, to show their appreciation, the visitors gave gifts to TAML staff and TAML member (Makandi Tea Estate) representatives present. As a good host that we are, we couldn’t let them go without tasting our aromatic golden brown beverage, as well as, treat them to the complimentary tea industry hospitality at Thyolo Sports Club.

All this is our endeavor to promote Malawi Tea locally and internationally to our level best. Therefore, as an industry, we urge all Malawians and everyone visiting Malawi to visit us at the Tea Association of Malawi in Blantyre or Tea Research Foundation in Mulanje to have a taste of our tea. Tea has so many health benefits and we have a cup of tea for everyone.
